How to Raise Confidence in a New Driver?

I, being a driving instructor, have come across many driving learners who even after acquiring driving skills to perfection are unable to drive with confidence. This had lead to high failure rate when we talk about practical driving test.

Many of my students have questioned me on the fact that what is the best way to drive with confidence, and my answer to them all has always been same. Today I will share few things that I always tell my student drivers that have helped in boosting their overall confidence.

The most important thing is PRACTICING, no matter who you are but if you do not practice you’ll never learn driving and will always feel lack of confidence. Many of my student drivers say that they have the family, where each and every member has been driving with success, so practice is not required for them. But it is not the case, as driving is an acquired skill and although many have natural tendency to learn driving quickly, however this is not the substitute to practicing.

For practicing well, one need to initially work on learning the basic skills to the best, for this purpose choosing a calm and quiet place which has almost NO TRAFFIC can really help. Go to that place, and practice reversing, gear change and driving in a slow speed.

When you have practice enough on traffic-free roads, and feel the confidence to progress to traffic filled roads, take unfamiliar roads and if possible, diverse vehicles so you go out of your comfort zone, very often. This will help you in driving in diverse location in multiple types of vehicles with ease. So no matter, what the conditions are you will drive confidently.

    Hi Admin,
Interesting Thoughts, Most parents believe that their children are the true measure of their success in life. That is the reason why some parents will overdo their part and push their child too much for them to excel in everything they do. They tend to forget that there are also other important concerns they need to attend to, like attending every school activities, going to the park or just spending time with them talking in their level. Molding a child to become confident is not an overnight job. It is a process that includes simple things, like the usual daily activities. As children become more secure with their self, it will make them a better and productive person.
Once their Confidence is built they can surely clear any driving test or any other test of life, though with proper learning
